Summary: Jean Bosco is accused of raping a 17-year-old girl who had gone to fetch wood with her friends. Though he had pleaded not guilty before the High Court, the Court had sentenced him to life imprisonment based on the fact he had earlier pleaded guilty during Police interrogations, and also based on witness accounts. The accused thus challenges the said decision before the Supreme Court, arguing that he had pleaded guilty before the Police due to torture, and that there was no evidence to the accusation. In the end, he pleads guilty of the offence, expresses remorse ad pleads for a lighter sentence. The Supreme Court considers his appeal, and reduces his sentence to 15 years in prison.
