INTERMINISTERIAL CIRCULAR N° 016/MJ/MEMIS/MPRD OF
AUGUST 04, 2016 RELATING TO THE RECEPTION OF
COMPLAINTS RESULTING FROM GENDER-BASED VIOLENCE
/-)
The Attorneys General exercising at the
Courts of Appeal;
The Attorneys of the Republic exercising at the
Courts of First Instance;
The Resident Substitutes exercising at the
Detached Sections of the Courts;
Judicial Police Officers of the National Police
and the National Gendarmerie;
This circular is issued within the framework of the fight against GenderBased Violence (GBV).
We constantly receive information that, when people come to the police or
gendarmerie to lodge a complaint for sexual assault and physical assault or
violence, some judicial police officers ask them to produce medical
certificates, before receiving their complaint.
The same is true when victims go to complain directly to some Offices of the
State Counsel.
