OGBEDO FOR THE ACCUSED PRESENT JUDGMENT By a bill of indictment dated the 13 April 2012, the prosecution has alleged that on or about the 14 February 2012 at Ebo Town, in the Kanifing Municipality of The Gambia, the accused person herein had unlawful carnal knowledge of one ISATOU SENGHORE, a child aged 5 years contrary to Section 121 and punishable under section 122 of the Criminal Code. The accused person pleaded not guilty to the offence. The Prosecution’s evidence was led through four (4) witnesses and three (3) exhibits were tendered in support of its case. Although the accused stayed mute in the witness box, one exhibit was tendered in support of his defense.
