- Summary
Jean Paul is accused of raping a 6-year-old girl. Though Paul denied the allegations, the High Court found Jean Paul guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment with a fine of 200,000 Frw, based on witness accounts which were identical with those of the victim. Paul appeals the decision before the Supreme Court, pleads guilty, apologizes and pleads for a reduced sentence, as he has a teenager under his care. The Court thus grants his appeal, and reduces his sentence to 15 years of imprisonment and a fine of 200,000 Frw.
