(4) Not withstanding any Public Health Regulations the burial shall not take place except in case of necessity until leave has been obtained from a Magistrate. (5) In conducting the investigation the chief shall have the powers and duties of a police officer under sections 117 and 118 of this Code. (6) On completion of the investigation the chief shall forward his report and the record, if any, of his investigation to the nearest police station. (7) Nothing in this section shall operate to relieve any policeman from any obligation or duty conferred upon him under Chapter X11 of this Code to undertake and carry out any investigation. 110. A Chief Bound to Report Certain Matters. Every chief shall forthwith communicate to the nearest Magistrate so competent or to the nearest policeman any information, which he may possess or obtain respecting: (a) the permanent or temporary residence of any notorious receiver or vendor of stolen property; or (b) the resort to or passage through his village, Buma or Payam of any person whom he knows or reasonably suspects to be a murderer, robber, escaped convict or person required to appear by a proclamation published under section 61 of this Code, or; (c) the occurrence within his village, Buma or Payam of the death of any person or the disappearance from such village, Buma or Payam of any person in circumstances which lead to a reasonable suspicion that the death or disappearance is the result of an offence committed in respect of such person; or (d) any matter likely to affect the maintenance of law and order or the prevention of crime or the safety of person or property respecting which the Chief Inspector of Police has directed him to report. 35
