Section 190 - “False Personation for Purpose of Act or Proceeding in Suit or Prosecution”: Whoever falsely personates another and in such assumed character makes any admission or statement or causes any process to be issued or becomes bail or security or does any other act in any suit or criminal prosecution, commits an offence and shall on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding three years or with fine or with both. Explanation:- This section applies whether the personation is of an actual or factious person but does not render punishable the mere assumption of a false name. Section 191 - “False Charge of Offence made with Intent to Inure”: Whoever with intent to cause injury to any person institutes or causes to be instituted any criminal proceedings against that person or falsely charges any person with having committed an offence knowing that there is no just or lawful ground for such proceeding or charge against that person, commits an offence and shall on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or with fine or with both; and If such criminal proceeding be instituted on a false charge of an offence punishable with death or imprisonment for seven years or more, shall be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding seven years and may also be liable to fine. Section 192 - “Taking Gift to Help to Recover Movable Property”: Whoever takes or agrees or consents to take any gratification under pretence or on account of helping any person to recover any movable property of which he shall have been deprived by any offence, unless he uses all means in his power to cause the offender to be brought to justice, commits an offence and shall on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding two years or with fine or with both. Explanation:- In this section, the word “offence” includes any act done outside the New Sudan which if done in the New Sudan would be an offence. Section 192(A) – “Influencing Course of Justice”: Whoever with intent to influence the course of justice in any civil or criminal proceedings does any act whereby the fair hearing, trial or decision of any matter in that proceeding may be prejudiced, commits an offence and shall on conviction, be punished with imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months or with fine or with both. 55
